Innovation: Africa is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that brings Israeli innovation to African villages. Founded in 2008, in nine years Innovation: Africa has provided light, clean water, food and proper medical care to more than 1 million people in Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Africa, the DRC, Senegal, and Cameroon.
The Office Manager plays a central role in ensuring efficient operations of the New York office, and smooth coordination across our other sites. The Office Manager is responsible for the administrative management, QuickBooks, financial tasks, tech support, bookkeeping support, personnel and HR. Must have vast accounting knowledge and background. Working closely with the Founder and CEO of Innovation: Africa, we seek an independent, dynamic, and passionate self-motivator to join our team.
猗Accounting and Bookkeeping with day-to-day financial tasks such as expenditure tracking across all offices, coordinating reimbursement and purchase order requests, and generate financial reports;
猗Perform general administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, maintaining an organized filing system, managing mail, scheduling, meeting preparation, and receiving guests;
猗Manage all internal office systems, ordering and organizing office supplies;
猗Manage payroll and other HR duties;
猗Manage our donor database by keeping track of all income, coordinating and disseminating donor and donation information to all departments;
猗Plan and monitor other special projects and events that may arise;
猗Track grants, consultants and vendors
Expectations. Experience and Abilities:
路 A genuine love of the work. This is not an easy job, and we're looking for people willing to work hard in support of our cause.
路 A good attitude. We are a small, close-knit team and we want people who will enjoy coming in to work every day.
路 Tech skills: Fluency in all standard Microsoft, Mac and PC programs is a must. Database and Quickbooks experience is a definite plus.
路 Absurdly high attention to detail and extraordinary organizational skills.
路 The ability to work both independently AND as part of a team. You'll be part of a 5 person office here in NY and collaboration is a must, but there's also a lot you'll be expected to take on by yourself as well.
路 Great communication skills. You'll be communicating via Skype and Whatsapp with teams across the globe, so facility with fast paced communication through lots of channels is a big part of the job.
路 The ability to prioritize. You'll be working in a deadline oriented environment managing lots of projects, so the ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize is essential.
路 A high level of integrity and strong work ethic. We are looking for someone who will take initiative and not only maintain current systems, but improve upon them.
Accounting and Bookkeeping skills highly preferred.
路 Experience working in administrative positions preferred. Bachelor's Degree required.
